Meet a neighbour

Ever wondered what kind of people live on your street? Well maybe everyone else on your street is thinking the same thing.

Many people live in a street where people "keep themselves to themselves" We say let's not keep ourselves to ourselves. We think it is better to get to know each other, be friendly, notice each other.

We know that everyone is busy, and that telly has got some right good stuff on these days, but to be honest it only takes two ticks to pop next door and introduce yourself in a neighbourly way. Come on, let's get back to knowing who lives near us. Here's what we are proposing to do:

Think about your neighbours (if you do this then you are halfway there!). Who do you know and who don't you know?

Decide to try and meet one that you don't know. Here's a few suggestions of how you could do this:

  • Walk up and down the street when you come back from work every evening in the hope of bumping into someone. Yoveou are more likely to meet someone doing this than sitting on your sofa.
  • Pop a card into some letterboxes that say "Hi, My name is ___. I live at no. ___ and I don't believe we have ever met. Feel free to knock my door if you ever need anything. I will try to catch you at the weekend" You then have the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself at the weekend!
  • If you can bake, then bake the proverbial cake. It always goes down a storm.
  • Walk out of your house, down the road and simply knock at a door and start a conversation (it's a bold approach that few will try but it does save a certain amount of preamble).

Feel more connected.

We hope that you like what you read here, but we hope even more that you want to be a part of what we are doing. Every day people are signing up to be part of LoveCov and we want this to grow. The more people get involved the bigger an impact we can make across the city.

By signing up you will stay up to date with all of the LoveCov news. You will be connected to a growing number of people who really want to make an impact in people's lives. It will also help us know how many people are with us on the journey.
