I was leaving a train station yesterday and saw a young man searching through a bin for some food. I didn't have a 'lovecov.com' card but I gave him my cake which I had just purchased. He said' may God really bless you'
How cool was that?

Embrace’s been loving

Embrace joined forces for one great day to dramatically change the life of one woman in our community who had lost everything she owned and almost her life in a house fire.

She has lived a very challenging life and had been doing what she could to turn her circumstances around for the best, having recently put all her efforts into decorating and furnishing her one bedroom flat she finally had something that she felt proud of, only to watch it all go up in smoke. Embrace have experienced her gradual transformation only to see any hopes she had shattered on that fateful day. She had no choice but to remain living in her flat in such need of repair, for the past 5 months she has been living in an impossible situation even her front door was missing for some weeks, but regardless of this she has continued on her path of transformation.

So on Saturday 6th September we sent her out on a personal pamper and makeover day while a team of 25 volunteers took part in this big surprise and this incredible gift to her. We looked like the team off sixty minute makeover as we scrubbed and cleaned and painted and decorated and moved furniture in and furniture out and completely equipped her house with brand new goods and furnishings. Many people donated towards this day and gave of their time, expertise and finances. All of which would not have been possible without them.

The day was hard work for all sometimes not knowing if we were really going to get it all finished in time for the big homecoming, but it all came together in the end. Although we were tired we also felt motivated and energised to know that all our efforts were going to help someone in desperate need on our doorstep. This is what we are about and what human nature should be about helping those we can, if we can and when we can and it has a far greater impact when we work together and Embrace those around us.

All our efforts paid off as her homecoming brought an unbelievable surprise that was too much to take. but made her realise that day that it doesn't matter what things look like around you, there is always hope because one day you never know your dreams may just come true.

Hanging the washing out this morning and the line snapped right in the middle. Trotted off up Earlsdon High Street to get a replacement. Passing the shop 'Pride' when I spotted a lovely pair of shoes in the window (Komodo, baby blue Helena Rigbys') Had to get them. Had a chat to the lady owner, explained clothes line drama. She kindly gave me some spare rope she had left over from setting the shop up! She told me about lovecov.com, so here I am! What a lovely addition to a day that started a little bit annoying! Thanks for putting this in place guys :o) Take care xx

I have just been into town to get mum's hankie for her birthday and there is a little shop that has gorgeous things in and i know the lady well. Anyway i get the hankie and a llittle something and i know to pay by card you have to spend £12 so she adds it up it comes to £10 AND I SAY I WANT TO BLESS YOU PLEASE ROUND IT UP to the £12 . Well she can't cope cause she knows i love loads in the shop and i cpould easily buy something else, so i say if you don't i will go and treat you to a coffee because today i want to do a love act, so i tell her about lovcov.com. So she lets me pay the extra saying how the weather is bad and today it may be slow, but she smiles and says thanks. So only God knows the next part except i thank him for you guys as this causes me to think out of the box and show his love for others.

I went to a charity shop today to buy a book for holiday. Actually, I bought a few. The lady at the till gave me a discount on account of a couple of them being older and it came to £2 something. When I told her I wanted to round it up to £5 she was more than a little surprised. I told her about why I had done it and she was well chuffed and said that it had made her day; it certainly made her smile, which made me smile too. 2 people made happy and I still got a bargain!

You've sent in some great stories. Thanks! Keep them coming and we'll keep putting them up on the website.
