The last game of the hockey season I bought a round of drinks for 45 hockey fans who had travelled down from Edinburgh to watch the game between Coventry Blaze and the Edinburgh Capitals.

I had a great time and met some good friends - I'm going to try and organise something similar for every ice-hockey in our league.

People often come to Coventry with a bad impression of the place, I try to make sure they don't leave with it.

A friend of mine who was the fittest active person in Cov was struck down by an infection last year and as such has been off work for a long time. One of the highlights of their day is sitting in the back garden on the bench reading whilst listening to the birds in the trees yet after this recent rai the grass had grown out of control. I arranged to strim it and then mow it and as I sit here now looking at the lawn I know that person gets more enjoyment with a mowed lawn than a forest.

It took 10/15 minutes of my day and I feel great about it.

I forgot that it was the buy someone random a drink day until late in the evening, we were just leaving the pub and I needed some groceries. A friend and I were stopped outside sainsbury's by a gentleman who was asking for a pound so that he could buy himself something to eat. We offered to go get him something, as we were heading into the shop. He really didn't know what he fancied to eat and was diabetic to complicate matters, but he got a right little picnic anyhow. I don't think he was looking for money for food really - but it was probably better for him. Funny how his response was a very sincere 'God bless you!' He was blessed and though he wanted to, couldn't bless back, so asked God to! ...I must do it more.
