Put simply, this is an opportunity to buy a new toy for a child/teen that otherwise would not receive anything at Christmas (and yes, there are many). We now hope to donate over £2000 worth of new toys to children and teens that deserve to have a smile on their face at Christmas and are urging individuals and businesses alike to join us.
We are well aware of the financial pressures on families this year and we would not encourage anyone to donate to this if you really can't afford to. However, if you can spare some cash, or decide to sacrifice something yourself so that a child can feel loved then here is how you can get involved:
Buy an appropriate toy. Although cute, stuffed toys are usually over-bought so please, no stuffed toys this year.
Don't wrap it up. This is so we can all check that it is appropriate and match it to a child.
Drop it off to us. We are having a special service at Mosaic Church on Sunday 14th December at 10.30am where you are welcome to pop in and drop off your donations. Alternatively you can drop them off at the Salvation Army building in the city centre, clearly marked "For the Toy Appeal".
May all who invest into this feel the benefit as we endeavour to change the culture in and around us.
We hope that you like what you read here, but we hope even more that you want to be a part of what we are doing. Every day people are signing up to be part of LoveCov and we want this to grow. The more people get involved the bigger an impact we can make across the city.
By signing up you will stay up to date with all of the LoveCov news. You will be connected to a growing number of people who really want to make an impact in people's lives. It will also help us know how many people are with us on the journey.
